The George Inn
Mark, Nigel & Sue would like to welcome you to The George Inn, which is a traditional English pub, situated in the heart of Mere. It makes a perfect stop for weary travellers on the A303, offering good home cooked dishes and a good selection of ales from Hall and Woodhouse.

Recently The George has been awarded the award of Pub/Restaurant of the year 2009 by a group of regional newspapers.
The George Inn has 6 en-suite letting rooms all offering comfortable accommodation and is conveniently located just off the A303 for easy access to such local attractions as Longleat Safari Park and Stourhead House and Gardens.
The main bar is spacious and features a large, real log fire for those cold winter nights. The bar has an adjoining dining area perfect for sampling one of our delicious meals from our extensive menu. There is also a seperate restaurant for families and is also suitable for larger parties – this room can also be let out for small private functions for up to 30 people.
Children are welcome and food is served daily from 12.00 to 2.00pm and in the evening from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
For the summer months, there is an outside seating area for enjoying those lovely sunny days and warm evenings where you can relax and soak up village life in Mere whilst enjoying a few drinks and nibbles.
