Food and drink
The George is the place in Mere to eat, drink or stay for a night or two. Come and have a drink in our bar and sit in front of our roaring log fire. A good selection of ales, including Badger Best, Sussex, Bitter and seasonal ales such as Hopping Hare and Fursty Ferret, to name just a few.
After having a drink why not have a bite to eat from one of menus or our ever changing daily specials.
We pride ourselves in the quality of our food, most of which is locally sourced.

SUNDAY LUNCH AT THE GEORGE
We normally have two roasts to choose from at £9.00 each.
Topside of Beef is always available, served with yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and fresh vegetables of the day.
We normally have either Chicken , Pork or Lamb as the other offering.
SUNDAY SPECIAL
Roast plus one of our fantastic home made desserts is only £12.50
We have two dining areas, one off the bar area and the other is a seperate room which is also our family room and can be let for small functions up to 30 people or for meetings.
Our menus generally change with the seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter to reflect the local seasonal produce that is available.
